Society has a way of showing us what our expectations should be regarding our lives, and we have completely lost our way in finding our own dreams and purpose. We are not meant to live our lives in order to go to work, come home, go to bed and do it all over again. Who decided that we must spend the majority of our life dreaming of retirement and wishing for more time to spend doing what we love?
We are given one life, and that time should be spent with absolute purpose in fulfilling your dreams and aspirations. I’m sure many of you may be shaking your head and thinking “Right, I barely have time for myself let alone fulfilling my dreams”. And I get it. But that’s exactly how you will continue to stay stuck in the cycle of “life” that really doesn’t serve you.
Break Free
Think about what you would do with your life or what goals you would set for yourself if all you had to do was say them out loud and they would automatically come to fruition. Where would that take you? How different would your life be? There’s a reason why they say there’s no time like the present. You have control over what’s in store for you, even if it may seem completely impossible in the moment. Happiness is really what we all desire in our lives, so why aren’t we jumping at the chance to set ourselves down the right path?
Take Control
Life gets in the way, and it’s hard to get out from under all of the excuses. Time, money, family, hardships, etc. It’s all intertwined and affects us all personally in one way or another. But being able to see through the obstacles and trusting that you are meant for something greater is the first step towards actually achieving it. Stop comparing yourself or your situation to anyone or anything else.
Whatever your dreams or goals are, it’s never too late. They may have been put on the backburner for far too long or completely forgotten about, but you have the opportunity to dig deep and pull yourself back out. We are all meant to be creative, happy and fulfilled individuals. Now get off the hamster wheel and guide yourself back to what is important to you!
